Viva Mexico!

For Spring Break this year Aaron and I headed to back to Mexico, but this time we hit up the Atlantic side- Cancun to be exact! Here is a little of what we were up to.

Pool time!

Beach time!

Hammock time!

Snorkel time!

The weather was sunny and warm but very windy for most of our week so our plans to snorkel in the ocean in Puerto Morelos had to be canceled. We ended up going to a fresh water lagoon that flows into the ocean, where the wind was not an issue. Tons of fish!

Tennis time!

History time!- Chichen Itza

We booked an LDS tour guide to get a unique perspective on the Mayan ruins (gracias Carlos!). We cannot be certain that Mayan beliefs had roots in Book of Mormon times; but it was interesting to see how certain Mayan symbols could be viewed as having Christian ties, although their original meaning would have been obscured by years of apostacy. Regardless of origin, it was amazing to see the remains of what was once a significant civilization.

Cliff diving into a sink hole time!

Sushi time!

Even in Mexico! I can't say that we would recommend it - we're pretty sure this appetizer came from Costco. But we certainly enjoyed lots of tacos, nachos, and virgin pina coladas.

We had a blast! What made it even more sweet was knowing that we had conveniently missed two blizzards while we were gone! Perfect timing!

Luna de Miel Numero Dos

A second honeymoon... why not? I feel truly blessed to have gone on such a wonderful vacation so soon after our last. It is so nice to get away with my adorable husband. This vacation was SO nice. We really didn't do much at all except lay by the pool or go to the beach.

Here was a typical day for us...

Get up and eat Zucharitas aka Frosted Flakes! While in Costa Rica I discovered two things. One, that I love rice and beans and two, that I love Choco Zucharitas. Well we couldn't find the chocolate kind in Puerto Vallarta but just the regular sugared up version would do. I'm really not a sugar cereal kind of girl. I'm strictly a raisin bran and honey bunches of oats fan and sometimes I'll spring for the Cinnamon life. That's why this was such a treat!

Next we would go lay in the lazy river! This was my favorite part of the trip!

Afterwards, we would go lay by the pool or go for a swim. We loved our pina colodas!

We were always up for some bingo or PING-PONG!

Then we would grab some lunch by the beach.

Then maybe lay at the beach for a while. And of course there was always a game of either sequence or gin being played.

Or maybe we would head out to some waterfalls to do some rappelling.

Then at night we would either head down town(and usually we opted for the public bus because it was the cheaper transportation. But it was definitely cheaper... while sitting in a bus with a hole in the bottom we drove over a puddle of water and I got splashed in the face!)

or hang out on the beach to watch the sunset. And there were some beautiful sunsets!

And of course we couldn't go to bed at night without watching at least two episodes of Numb3rs! This is currently our favorite show!

It was a wonderful vacation and I have never had so much fun in Mexico! I think this should become a yearly tradition and everyone is invited!!!

Check out some more of our photos! They are awesome!
