My Room

My Room!

I am not one of those crafty creative people, but sometimes I like to pretend that I am. So when I like to pretend this is where I go.

Now don't get too excited. It is not a room of my very own. I do have to share it with things like our very orderly game storage. (Could we have more games of monopoly!)

I also share it with the laundry. (Yesterday was laundry day. I informed Aaron that he is not allowed to buy anymore shirts!)

That is my room.

I heard a joke this week and it went like this...

"I live in a gated community. Gated windows, gated doors..."

I am proud to say that I live in a "gated" community (notice bars on windows). Proud to be protected! I mean we have already been broken into once!

Bathroom

The Bathroom.

I love the claw foot tub, the brick, and how everything is white. It makes the room feel so clean. Although it does mean that I have to clean it more often, because it is easier to see the dirt. Not that cleaning a bathroom is a bad thing. It's just never my favorite thing to do.

The previous owners were going to leave us their shelving unit that they used in the bathroom, but I opted not to take it. See as fun as pedestal sinks are, they aren't very convenient in a full bath that you use to get ready. There is no place to put my hair dyer, curling iron, make up and all of the other "getting ready" necessities. So I choose to buy a short cabinet, now I at least have some counter space. It doesn't really leave much room for storage, but we get by.

Some of my favorite parts of the bathroom are the towel hook, the mirror, and the cabinet knobs.
That's our bathroom. I think it's pretty cool!

Kitchen

Our Kitchen!

Let's start with my favorite part of the kitchen. How fun is this brick wall! At one time it was a fireplace. The previous owners left us the knife rack as well as the wine glass rack. Well obviously we don't need the wine glass rack, so we have adapted it to be our tea cup rack. Not that we drink tea either. At least it looks cool. I wish I could say that I collected these cups from my travels around the world, but sadly that is not the case. Mostly they are from my travels around the city to places like Good Will, World Market, Anthropologie and TJ Maxx HomeGoods.

Here is some of the decor. I love the picture frame. And of course I had to frame our favorite food- Hot Dogs!

Fun pot rack!

So my mom came over one day and asked, "Why do you have an H above your stove?" So in case you were wondering the same thing, the H stands for Hunt. My last name is Hunt now :) Love ya Mom.

Cookbooks. I'll probably have to find a new place for these once Ethan starts crawling around.

The door to our laundry room. Love it!

And more of our cool lighting.
Hope you enjoyed our Kitchen. I sure enjoy it everyday!

Living Room

Here is our living room.

When you walk in the front door this is the room you enter into. I was going to say it is the first room that you see, but when you walk in our home you can see every room.

Check out our mailbox. How fun is this. The mail comes directly into our house.

Storage. I love those baskets. Aren't they fun!

Accessories. The best part about this room is that I didn't have to buy a single thing to decorate it. I already had everything, purchased mostly from Target. It was perfect that everything I had happened to be green and brown. Those are the exact colors of the tile on our fireplace. Even the curtains, that were left by the previous owners, are the exact fabric that my pillows are made out of. Very convenient.

I have a love/hate relationship with this desk. I like the look of it, but I kind of wish we hadn't purchased it. It is just frustrating sometimes that you can see everything on it. But the desk chair is fun.

Here is my favorite part of the room, the fireplace. I just love how unique it is.

The lighting. I love the Tiffany lamps all throughout our house. We were very fortuante to move into a house that was just the way that we wanted it. We have made very few changes to the home.
