*Luckily for you, I’m guessing you have seen enough Disney on this blog lately, I have postponed all of my Disney blogging. See, I have some fun videos to share from our Disney trip. I had put all blogging on hold so I could figure out my video camera.  I have officially given up and am now declaring the my video camera is smarter than me. So until my husband has time to show me how to use the fancy new camera he bought, Disney will be on hold. In order to get caught up on everything but Disney I am blogging and I am not stopping until I am done. I probably have about a weeks worth of posts to share. So enjoy getting caught up with these Hunts for the next week.

After Disney, like a day or two after, I hoped on another plane, but this time I headed for Kansas City. My mom, Ethan and I went to spend a few days with my sister Whitney and her baby girl, Kate.

Most of our time was spent helping Whitney do a lot of house hunting- which turned out to be unsuccessful. But it was still fun, especially for Cousin Kate since she got to be my model. That girl can sure strike a pose!

Although, here are the kids at the end of the day. Not so enthused.

We also ate, shopped, and even ran into a good friend of ours. We are all too familiar with this guy at our house- The Cat in the Hat. Cousin Kate, in pure excitement, walked around the entire book store holding a Cat in the Hat book telling everyone in sight that she was about to meet the Cat. As soon as he appeared she started screaming, SCARY! SCARY! and she wanted nothing to do with him. Ethan on the other hand, fresh off his trip to Disney where he met almost every character, was about to jump out of my mothers arms in excitement at meeting this feline that he shares his room with. It was pretty hilarious.

 

Then we even had the pleasure of getting Whitney and Kate to come play with us here in Denver for a few days. We all hopped in the car and took the 10 hour road trip from Kansas to Colorado so we could come back here to do more eating, more shopping, and more cousin play time! It was so fun to get together!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

I cannot believe that Ethan is one and at the same time I cannot believe that he is only one! I feel like he has been in our lives forever. I have loved everything about this year. Ethan has made life so much fun!

Yesterday we had some family over to help us celebrate the big day!

I think there are a few things that we can learn from the pictures in the collage below. 1- I should leave all picture taking up to Aaron since I am obviously terrible at it. 2- Cousins are awesome!

We ate caramel apples instead of cake since Ethan isn’t a cake fan yet.

We opened presents. His favorite present of the evening was the Mickey Mouse birthday card :)

Then for a little after hours fun we let Ethan dive into his Mickey caramel apple. Ethan isn’t a huge fan of sweets, so it took him a while before he really got into it. Then it turned into more of playing than eating, but he had a blast!

Let the Memories Begin

Last month we got the chance to head back to Disney World. Now weren’t we there not too long ago? Maybe ;) I warned Aaron that this might happen. When we were first married I told Aaron that we would need to budget for yearly trips to Disney. He thought that I was kidding. This is our third year of marriage and our third trip to Disney. I think he is finally starting realize that I was serious. And I think he is finally on board! As we were leaving the park the last day there was one last ride that Aaron, yes Aaron, wanted to go on but there just wasn’t time. I said, “Next time we come you will be able to go on the ride with Ethan.” And his response, “It better not be that long till we come back.” That made my heart so happy to hear.

I have a ridiculous amount of photos from this trip as well as some awesome video. So you can plan on hearing about this trip for a while- in between other posts. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

Today I’ll start with some of the characters that we were able to meet. I thought we would introduce Ethan to Mickey, but I didn’t think we would bother standing in line to meet anyone else. We got lucky and we happened upon quite a few characters that had very little or no wait lines. It was great, because except for Pluto Ethan loved meeting every single on of them! 

 

His favorite was Donald. After meeting Donald we had to sit for 20 minutes while Ethan stared at the duck. Then when we tried to leave Ethan started crying, crawling out of his stroller, and grabbing for Donald. It was hilarious!

 

The weather in Orlando wasn’t too hot or too humid in fact it was perfect everyday, expect one. This day it rained and at night it was freezing and windy. In an attempt to get out of the cold we ran into a Little Mermaid show. When the show was over we were let out into this back alley. Maybe we just went the wrong way, but I’m glad that we did because the next place we ran to get out of the cold wasn’t a place that we would have normally gone to or even noticed. We found ourselves in an animation room watching a show on how they draw the Disney characters. Well after that show, they let us out into this back room for a surprise after hours dance party.

This was the highlight of the trip and possibly the highlight of Ethan’s life this far because not only did Ethan get to meet Mickey Mouse, but he got to dance with him as well. I can’t wait until I have figured out how to get the video off of my camera so I can show you this awesome night!

Pure joy! I don’t think I have ever seen Ethan as excited as he was when he saw Mickey.

He also didn’t mind meeting Minnie and a plethora of Disney channel characters that I cannot name since we don’t yet have the Disney channel in our home.  

We had so much fun. It was so fun to have Ethan with us this time. There is so much more to tell you about! I can’t wait to share it all with you.

Ethan’s New Love

Too much time playing leaves not enough time to blog. We have been having a lot of fun lately traveling the country these past few weeks. I have a lot to share with you, but I have 800 photos to go through and hours of video. You will just have to wait. Until then I will share a post that should actually be going on Ethan’s blog, but after completing this post I realized that I was blogging on A-Squared Adventures and not The Adventures of Ethan and now I am too lazy to switch this post to it’s correct blog. So enjoy a rare all about Ethan post…

We finally caught a time in between one of the blizzards and the snow completely melting when we got Ethan out to experience his new love… the snow.

We should also win parent of the year award here for letting our child out in the snow with no coat, one glove, and sometimes a hat. 

Who cares? He had a blast! Unfortunately for Ethan this was a short love affair as the snow quickly came and is now gone for good… I hope! After spending this past week in Florida I am ready for short wearing weather!

A Week of Love and Food

 

Aaron and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary this week! It was a week filled with lots of love and lots of food!

Monday Aaron came home with a hot dog, a diet coke, and flowers! I couldn’t have asked for a better Valentines surprise!

Tuesday (our anniversary) we got away for a few hours to have a romantic dinner for two! (Two being the key word. Ethan stayed home with the grandparents. Thank you!)

Friday we ate pancakes in celebration of some other things that we love! (more on that to come!!!)

Saturday we devoured our dessert. The molten lava cake brought back memories of a last first kiss ;)

It was quite a delicious week! And we are not done celebrating! More anniversary celebrations coming next month, can’t wait!
